OVERVIEW
To bring Bright Brewery’s Kuraidesu Japanese Dark Lager to life, I transformed the brewery’s loading dock into a fully realised Tokyo-style izakaya, designing the set, sourcing props from a local Japanese restaurant, and producing the entire film solo — from concept to final edit. The one-shot dolly sequence was designed to evoke the nostalgia, sensuality, and mystery of late nights in Japan, mirroring the beer’s dark and refined flavour profile.
The film earned a standing ovation internally on first screening and became one of Bright Brewery’s most distinctive brand pieces. Its release generated exceptional organic traction, reaching audiences far beyond the brewery’s follower base. roughly three-quarters of all views (70%) came from people who didn’t already follow Bright Brewery—an exceptional discovery rate for organic content.
This level of non-follower reach demonstrated the campaign’s success as both an emotive brand film and a powerful audience-growth asset — proving that cinematic storytelling and craft-led production can deliver real organic discovery on social platforms.

I captured these stills during production, edited them and designed the title graphics. They were used in web and socials to extend the cinematic language of the Kuraidesu film — warm, moody, and intimate. Each image was lit, styled, and shot on the handcrafted izakaya set I built in Bright Brewery’s loading dock, designed to immerse viewers in the smoky allure of a late-night Tokyo bar.
