David Willis — director, cinematographer, creative lead.
I make brand films, campaigns, and documentary work. I run them end-to-end: concept, treatment, direction, cinematography, edit. I'm comfortable working as a sole creative or leading a small team, where the thinking and the making aren't separate jobs.
Recent work includes Kuraidesu (premium Japanese-inspired product film, izakaya set built from scratch), Håut Hutt Saunas (design-led brand film and architectural photography), The Dope x Spartan Race Australia (documentary-style campaign), and Altitude Adjustment (a deliberately weird, character-led beer campaign).
My short film How things are born was premiered at Flickerfest 2020, and was a semi-finalist at the Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival, and the Australia Independent Film Festival.
AFTRS alumni with a background in UX design and investigations - I think in briefs and people, not just frames.
